SST-LCI — the Life-Cycle Integration ontology of SST — is derived from ISO 15926 “Industrial automation systems and integration — Integration of life-cycle data for process plants including oil and gas production facilities”; in particular ISO 15926-2:2003 for the “Data model” and ISO/TC 15926-12:2018 on “Life-cycle integration ontology represented in Web Ontology Language (OWL)".

SST-LCI uses the same 4D approach to describe all the things around us. SST-LCI differs significantly from the ISO 15926 data model is several respects with the consequence that only some 50% of the ISO 15926 definitions are used in exactly the same way in SST-LCI. The main differences are:
